The Chicago Bears gained some insight into their playoff path to the NFC Championship on Saturday night.
The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers faced off at Levi's Stadium with the No. 1 seed in the NFC on the line. Both teams clinched a playoff berth earlier in the season, but securing the best seed in the conference would mean a first-round bye, which is extremely valuable.

The Bears were competing for the top seed until they lost 42-38 to the 49ers in Week 17.
Now, the best they can do is the No. 2 seed. The Bears will take home the No. 2 seed with a win over the Detroit Lions or a loss by the Philadelphia Eagles to the Washington Commanders.
After putting up 42 points on the Bears in their last game, the 49ers were surprisingly held to under 10 points by the Seahawks' defense. For reference, the 49ers almost had 500 total yards of offense against the Bears.
However, San Francisco had just over 100 yards of offense entering the fourth quarter. The last time that the 49ers didn't score a touchdown was Week 15 of the 2024 regular season.

Saturday night was the first time that San Francisco didn't score an offensive touchdown in the first half since Week 4 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The game ended in favor of the Seahawks, 13-3, meaning that the Bears will have to go through Seattle to reach the Super Bowl. Granted, nothing is set in stone since the Seahawks can lose as the No. 1 seed, but that's the path until further notice, as they have home-field advantage and a first-round bye.
Chicago could still face either San Francisco or the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card. To face the Rams, the Bears need to lose to the Lions, the Eagles need to beat the Commanders, and the Arizona Cardinals need to beat Los Angeles.
If the Rams end up beating the Cardinals, but every other game happens the same way, the Bears will face the 49ers.

If the Seahawks had lost, the Rams would have been locked into the No. 6 seed, but the No. 5 seed is still up for grabs.
For the Bears, nothing changes. A win over the Lions still means that they will take on the Green Bay Packers on Wild Card Weekend. Sunday's game kicks off at 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.
