Make it two for two for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The NBA announced on Friday that Chet Holmgren has won the December Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month award. He joins Cason Wallace as the fellow recipient of the monthly trophy this season.

Holmgren averaged 18.3 points on 59.6% shooting, 7.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He averaged two blocks. The Thunder remain the NBA's best defense. No matter what stat you want to comb through, you can guarantee they'll be at the top with a sizable gap from the rest of the league.

The Thunder rely on Holmgren to be their rim protector. He's been one of the best shot-blockers since he entered the league. The 23-year-old is well on his way to making his first All-Star bid alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Isaiah Stewart was the East's winner for the monthly honor. Other West nominees were Kris Dunn, Rudy Gobert, Draymond Green and Jaren Jackson Jr.
