Caleb Williams and Bears are hungry for revenge over Lions

1 week ago 2

The Chicago Bears are heading into their game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday with a lot of individual and team accomplishments to shoot for. Also, Ben Johnson wants to prove he can get the best of his former team, the Detroit Lions. The Bears want to end the regular season on a high note and get ready for a potential playoff run. I think they do just that, all while knocking off some very encouraging accomplishments to put the cherry on top of this regular season.

Here are my five expectations for the Bears' final game of the season:

Caleb Williams reaches 4K

The Chicago Bears have yet to have a 4k yard passer in the history of their franchise. A milestone that many have laughed at the Bears for not yet reaching. The Bears sit in this embarrassing stat only. On Sunday afternoon, that could come to an end. Caleb Williams is only 270 yards passing from achieving that. He is coming off a 330-yard passing game versus the Lions and all the confidence in the world, as the offense is finally hitting its stride. Caleb Williams and the Bears have to avenge their disastrous loss and show the Lions that that game was a fluke and they are the team to fear in the North now. That starts with Caleb Williams delivering another elite performance right before the playoffs.

D.J. Moore ends the season with a bang

Last week, D.J. Moore was not a factor, and that was a big part of his dealing with an illness. This week, Moore should be good to go, and with other receivers on this offense banged up, Moore could very well be the receiver that propels Caleb to a big day through the air. The Lions run a lot of man coverage, and this season that has not boded very well for them. Moore is an elite separator, and I think he will destroy the Lions' man coverage all game long. I think D.J. Moore ends the season with a big game, and his and Caleb Williams' connection looks very strong heading into the playoffs. D.J. Moore will eclipse 100 yards in this matchup.

Kyle Monangai runs for over 100 yards

It has been a slow yet impactful last stretch of games. The Bears' passing attack has taken over in this offense. However, in this matchup versus the Lions, I think the Bears get the best of both worlds with dominant showings from the run game and the passing attack. Kyle Monangai will lead the Bears' rushing attack to a dominant day. With Swift already at 1000 yards on the season, I think the rookie will get the spotlight and a chance to steal the show. Kyle Monangai will end his great rookie season with a 100-yard rushing day and a touchdown to put the cap on another elite showing.

Montez Sweat earns his 10th sack of the season finally

I had this same prediction last week, but with a dominant showing from the Bears' offense and Jared Goff playing in the cold, I think the Bears defense joins in on the fun. The Bears' pass rush has been inconsistent this season, but with the Lions' offensive line being a shell of themselves, I think Montez Sweat reaches double-digit sacks for the second time in his career.

Austin Booker keeps trending in the right direction

Austin Booker has a three-game streak now with a sack. Booker started the season off missing the first 4 games with an injury. Since then, he has been very impactful, and he has gotten better and better each week. Austin Booker is showing he can consistently create pressure on the quarterback, and that is while he's still in his development stages. Booker is at 4.5 sacks on the season, and getting to 5 sacks in year two for him would be a very encouraging feat. I think he gets at least one sack and is a constant irritant for Jared Goff in this matchup.
