Buffs add former Colorado State running back in portal

It should come as no surprise that the Buffs and Coach Prime are hitting the portal hard. This has been the team building strategy throughout Prime’s tenure, and with running back still a weak spot on the roster, help in that room is overdue.

With that being said, the Buffs are bringing in Damien Henderson II, a 6’2, 210 pound back from Compton, California, who spent two years with in state rival Colorado State and last season with Sacramento State. Henderson comes to Boulder with two years of eligibility and will look to build on a strong 2025 campaign. Last year he logged 91 carries for 565 yards and five touchdowns, averaging an eye catching 6.2 yards per carry.

It is easy to see why new offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and head coach Deion Sanders wanted him. The production has climbed each season, the physical tools are ready for the next level, and he can step in as a true workhorse for an offense that has been missing one.

Stay tuned for more transfer news as the portal action is just getting started.
