Buffs add Biletnikoff semifinalist in transfer portal

While the Colorado Buffaloes may have lost some talent in the transfer portal, the coaching staff is working hard to upgrade the 2026 roster.

The first big splash is at receiver, a position group led by new offensive coordinator Brennan Marion. A brilliant recruiter, Marion quickly added Danny Scudero, a prolific receiver for his hometown San Jose State.

Scudero was named First Team All-Mountain West, Second Team All-American and was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award. It’s hard to deny recognition for someone with 88 catches, 1,291 yards and 10 touchdowns in just 12 games.

Scudero has two years of eligibility left. He played this past season for the Spartans after spending two years (including a redshirt) at Sacramento State. Marion was the head coach of Sac State in 2025, but never actually coached the star receiver.

Listed at 5’9, 175-lbs., Scudero is hardly imposing. But he’s extremely fast, starts and stops on a dime, and is excellent tracking the ball in the air. He’s going to be a major piece in Marion’s go-go offense, taking the top off the defense and picking up YAC on screens and crosses.

Welcome, Danny!
