The Denver Broncos have had an incredible 2025 season, and a huge reason why is that the defense continues to be one of the best units in the league.

While they're not as good as the Seattle Seahawks or Houston Texans, the Broncos' defense still can shut down opposing teams like the best in the league.

John Franklin-Myers is a huge reason why this defense has been so good in 2025. After a strong 2024, there was speculation about a trade. But he stayed in Denver through 2025, and now, hitting free agency, Austin Gayle of The Ringer projects him to land a huge deal.

John Franklin-Myers is projected to land a new deal north of $15 million per year

"Franklin-Myers deserves to be paid this offseason," Gayle writes. "He is currently outside the top 40 interior defensive lineman in average annual salary (AAV), at just $7.5 millon; that should more than double with a new deal in 2026."

With Franklin-Myers being one of the better defensive linemen in the NFL over the last two seasons, his future, despite being 29 years old, should entail a major new contract of at least $15 million per year.

He's started 15 games for Denver in 2025 and has recorded 7.5 sacks, 25 total tackles, six tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hits, and 23 pressures entering Week 18.

It's the second straight season with at least seven sacks for Franklin-Myers, as his 2024 season was also a very productive one for Denver.

But now, the 29-year-old lineman, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets, is projected to get a huge new contract this offseason.

Gayle projects the deal to be at least $15 million per year, double his current salary of $7.5 million in 2025. While the Broncos might find keeping him difficult, Franklin-Myers has, at the very least, set himself up for a huge payday after the 2025 season.
