The San Francisco 49ers have battled through adversity throughout their 2025 campaign, overcoming the loss of Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and first-round pick Mykel Williams to season-ending injuries to set themselves up with a chance to win the division and secure the first seed in the NFC in their final game of the season.
San Francisco also started backup quarterback Mac Jones for eight games due to Brock Purdy's toe injury, and they were able to survive that as well.

Speaking with the MMQB's Albert Breer, Purdy shared what it is that makes this team different than the teams he's been on in the past.
“Every team’s so different,” Purdy said. “I just think this year, given the circumstances, I just feel like our heart, the scrappiness, the willingness to finish games and find ways to win has been different compared to what I’ve played on in the years past. In the first couple of years, we were blowing out teams. In the fourth quarter, the starters are out of the game. It was that vibe. And that was fun to be a part of. And I was grateful to be a part of that.
“But I feel like this year, it’s definitely just, man, How can we give everything every minute, every quarter, every game, every week? And I’m just proud to be a part of this kind of team.”
This team hasn't given up, despite being in third place in the division for most of the year. Now, they have a Week 18 game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday to determine the winner of the NFC West as well as who gets the first-round bye in the playoffs. Considering what the 49ers have lost, that's pretty impressive.
