We've said it before, and we'll say it again. Life in the NFL moves pretty fast.
Just a day after his dismissal brought an unceremonious end to his often-celebrated, frequently-volatile six-year Cowboys tenure, cornerback Trevon Diggs has not only landed with a playoff-bound team just before the postseason bracket begins, he's been reunited with his best friend, too.

Diggs was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday afternoon, barely 24 hours after his shocking and sudden dumping by Dallas.
NFL insider Adam Schefter first reported the news, citing a source, in a post on X.
Per ESPN's Field Yates, the Packers are now responsible for the $472,000 Diggs is due in base salary for Week 18, plus another $58,823 if he is active for Sunday's game.
Green Bay has a 9-6-1 record heading into the final weekend of games and will own the seventh seed in the NFC bracket. While their secondary is allowing 192.1 passing yards per game- better than all but six teams leaguewide- the group has just seven interceptions on the season.

The Packers' current cornerbacks- namely, Keisean Nixon, Nate Hobbs, and Carrington Valentine- have struggled, but it's unclear how much Diggs will help. He has not recorded an pick since Week 10 of last season and has clearly not been the same since returning from his 2023 ACL injury.
It was less than three weeks ago that Cowboys coaches were holding Diggs out of games- despite his claims of being healthy- because they did not feel he was fully game-ready after his latest knee injury and a concussion suffered in what he described as an at-home accident.
But at least Micah Parsons, the former Dallas edge defender who is ending his first year in Green Bay on injured reserve, is clearly pleased with the addition, as a New Year's Eve post on X indicated.
Green Bay plays in Minnesota on Sunday to close out their regular season. They will then travel for the wild-card round of the playoffs, to face either Philadelphia or Chicago.
