At the start of the Boston Celtics home game against the Chicago Bulls, it seemed like neither ball club could hit a shot. Then, at the end of the first frame, the Celtics started to pull away, and survived a late push by the Bulls in the game's fourth quarter to come away with a 115-101 victory that would propel them into the Eastern Conference's second-place spot.
Despite that early cold shooting, Boston ended the night shooting a respectable 38.0% from beyond the arc, if just 40.0% from the field overall. Chicago only being 4 percentage points more accurate from the field might have been more impactful if not for the Celtics winning the shot battle 104 attempts to 86. Keeping turnovers to just 8 to the Bulls' 13 also was a factor, as was winning the battle of the boards 54-45.
