Berks basketball: Reading High beats Lansdale Catholic in overtime for tourney title

Jostin DeCastro scored 25 points to lead Reading High to a 62-58 overtime victory over Lansdale Catholic on Tuesday to win the Reading Holiday Basketball Tournament.

With the scored tied at 50 after regulation, DeCastro made five free throws and a two-point basket as the Red Knights outscored Lansdale Catholic 12-8 in the extra session.

Javon Merriweather and Cameron Jones each scored 10 points, with Merriweather getting two in overtime. Weshley Rosario scored 3 of his 7 points in overtime.

The Red Knights are 7-3.

Reading High trailed 47-44 entering the final quarter, but its defense shut down Lansdale Catholic and DeCastro had 3 points in the quarter.
