Jan. 5—NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Bemidji State women's hockey team had a good first road trip to North Andover, Massachusetts.
After beating Merrimack in the first-ever meeting between the two teams on Saturday night, the Beavers skated to a 2-2 tie on Sunday. BSU also won the just-for-fun shootout.

Morgan Smith scored her second goal of the weekend with assists from Kasey Senden and Katy Comstock.
Avery Anderson tied the game at 1-1 midway through the first period before Raeley Carney regained the one-goal lead with 3:46 before the intermission. Hailey Armstrong and Talya Hendrickson picked up helpers on the goal.
McKenzie Cerrato tied the game again for the Warriors early in the second period. Neither team scored in the third period or in the 3-on-3 overtime.
Kaitlin Groess made 13 saves on just 15 shots for Bemidji State. Adreanna Doucette stopped 29 of the 31 shots she faced for MC.
Bemidji State returns to WCHA play Jan. 9-10 on the road against St. Thomas.
