4 days ago 2

Beau Johnson, an offensive lineman from North Dakota State, committed to Vanderbilt football in the transfer portal, he announced Jan. 5.

Johnson appeared in 13 games this season for the Bison. He was named to the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference First Team. He will be a redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining.

Johnson is the first offensive line transfer for Vanderbilt in an offseason that figures to be busy in that market once again. Several starters, including Chase Mitchell, Jordan White, Bryce Henderson and Isaia Glass are out of eligibility. Henderson was a previous successful transfer up from the FCS level, joining the Commodores from South Dakota. Cade McConnell is currently projected to return.
