These two franchises have been playing each other since 1930; only back then, it was the Chicago Bears vs the Portsmouth Spartans. The Bears lost that first matchup, and they’ve lost the last three against the Detroit Lions, but Chicago holds a (105-81-5) all-time record in the series.

For Week 18, there’s not quite as much drama surrounding this game as the NFL hoped when making the schedule, because only the Bears held up their end of the deal by being (11-5). The Lions (8-8) have lost three straight and have been eliminated from postseason contention.
There’s still Ben Johnson coaching against his former team narrative, and the Bears wanting revenge for their 52-21 Week 2 loss in Motown, plus Chicago needs a win to guarantee their number two seed in the NFC, and Caleb Williams is chasing a franchise record, so the FOX crew will still have plenty of talking points.
