Arsenal's march to what many hope is a trophy-laden season could be set to continue today as the Gunners enjoy a 3-1 lead away at Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup.

Pompey were first to strike in the opening minutes at Fratton Park when Colby Bishop dispatched a well-struck finish in the box in just the third minute.

Unphased, Mikel Arteta's troops go on with it and soon found an equaliser five minutes later, with key hitman Own Goal popping up to restore parity.

Then, in the 25th minute, it would be Gabriel Martinelli to lift the Premier League leaders out in front when his glancing header at the near post off Noni Madueke's corner sailed into the opposite end.

It was the seventh direct contribution by the pacey winger outside of league play, and he would go on to find an eighth when he completed his brace just minutes after the restart

By comparison, Martinelli has contributed just a single goal (and no assists) in the Premier League in 16 appearances.

With Leandro Trossard often preferred over him in the matchday XI across league outings, Martinelli's knack to turn up in other competitions may be an ace in the hole.
