More names are emerging as candidates to replace Jonathan Gannon as the Arizona Cardinals' head coach. Gannon was fired on Monday after a 3-14 2025 season in which they lost 14 of their final 15 games, including their final nine, and he went 15-36 in three seasons.
One name to emerge is a hot, young candidate in the division.

According to SI.com's Albert Breer, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has gotten interview requests from the Cardinals and three other teams. He is able to interview this week because the Seahawks have a first-round bye in the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but he is focused on the playoffs, so "he'll take a day or two and figure out a plan to balance all of it."
In his first season as the Seahawks' offensive coordinator, Seattle was No. 8 in total offense and No. 3 in scoring. He was the OC for the New Orleans Saints in 2024 but let go when Dennis Allen was let go as head coach. He also was OC for the Minnesota Vikings in 2021.
He has been in the NFL since 2016 as an offensive assistant, quarterbacks coach, passing game coordinator or offensive coordinator, spending time with the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers in addition to the Saints, Vikings and Seahawks.
Who are other candidates to replace Jonathan Gannon?
Kubiak is one of five known candidates the Cardinals are targeting as of when this was published. The others are:
