Texas was able to reel in their 10th win of the season 41-27 over Michigan, largely on the back of Arch Manning. Manning finished the game 21/34 for 221 yards and 2 scores passing, but was really dangerous with his legs, adding 155 yards and 2 scores rushing. In his final game of his first year as QB1, he was incredible from start to finish.

Manning opened the game slightly shaky, missing two short throws on the first drive and settling for a FG. Manning didn’t touch the ball again until the Longhorns were down 10-3 because of a fumbled kickoff from Ryan Niblett. He didn’t miss a beat when he got back on the field, leading Texas down the field for their first TD, following a great 4th down run by Manning.

Michigan was able to return the favor and take the lead again, but Manning marched back down the field and connected with Ryan Wingo on a 3rd and 10. That led to a beautiful touch pass to Jack Endries for the score, tying the game back up at 17. The final drive of the half was soured by multiple drops and a premature snap from Connor Robertson, leading to a punt instead of points for the Longhorns.

Manning finished the half 14/23 for 147 yards and a score through the air, adding 37 yards on the ground. Multiple penalties, pass protection lapses and drops kept the Longhorn offense from a stronger first half, but Manning looked crisp.

Michigan had taken the lead 20-17 before Manning touched the ball in the second half. After a penalty-heavy start to the drive, Manning and the offense settled in. Pass interference in the endzone put Texas into striking distance. Manning used his legs again, breaking multiple tackles en route to a 23-yard rushing TD, giving Texas its first lead since leading 3-0 to start the game.

Wardell Mack came up with a massive INT to keep Michigan from a score, giving Manning the ball on the Texas 4-yard line, up 24-20. A quick three-and-out took the offense back off the field and gave Michigan favorable field position once again. Michigan was able to convert it into a score, taking back a 27-24 lead.

Manning got the drive going finding his roommate, Parker Livingstone, for an easy first down. Manning’s legs kept the drive going on 4th and 2, putting them in Michigan territory. Following a nice run from Clark, Manning dropped a perfect, 30-yard fade pass to Kaliq Lockett for the score, putting Texas back in front, 31-27.

Following a Ty’Anthony Smith INT, Manning and the offense got the ball with a chance to put it on ice. It took all of nine seconds for Manning to take it 60 yards for his second rushing TD of the day, extending the lead to 11, 38-27. Battling through what seemed to be multiple injuries, Manning continued to put on a show.

Ty’Anthony Smith came up with another INT, setting up the offense with a short field. Conservative playcalling set up a FG try from Shipley, which he converted to extend the lead to 14. Manning didn't touch the field again, with Matthew Caldwell kneeling the ball down for the Longhorn’s 10th win of the season.

Manning and the Longhorn move into an all-important portal cycle and offseason as they prepare for the 2026 season. Manning’s rookie campaign left some to be desired early, but his strong finish to this season should give Longhorn fans confidence in their guy under center.
