Alabama loses former four-star recruit to transfer portal

4 days ago 2

Alabama defensive back Cam Calhoun has officially entered the transfer portal, according to a report from On3's Pete Nakos.

Calhoun totaled 28 tackles and 10 pass deflections over the past two seasons, doing so at Utah and Alabama. The Cincinnati, Ohio native will more than likely draw interest from a wide variety of programs around the country, as Calhoun has proven to play at an elite level against some of the top teams in the nation on numerous occasions.

A former four-star recruit, Calhoun transferred to Alabama from Utah in 2024, and made a solid impact throughout his 14 career appearances as a member of the Crimson Tide.

Calhoun is the second defensive back that Alabama has lost to the transfer portal this week. Kameron Howard announced recently that he will be entering the transfer portal as well, as the Tide will now turn their attention elsewhere in hopes of adding depth to the secondary yet again.

Alabama has seen various players on both sides of the football enter the transfer portal over the past few days, with Calhoun being the most recent player to announce his departure.
