One of the greatest players in Alabama history is on his way to the College Football Hall of Fame.
Former Crimson Tide running back Mark Ingram was officially selected as part of a group of 22 inductees that will make up the 2026 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hall of Fame class, the organization announced Wednesday.

Ingram was the first Heisman Trophy winner in Alabama football history, winning the award in 2009 as part of a season in which he helped lead the Crimson Tide to their first national championship in 17 years -- and the first under Nick Saban.
Ingram played in all 14 games that season and finished with 1,658 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. He had 28 carries for 113 yards and three touchdown runs in the Crimson Tide's 32-13 win over the Florida Gators in the 2009 SEC Championship Game.
Against Texas in the BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl, Ingram scored Alabama's first touchdown of the night and helped put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter with another score. He finished the night with 22 carries for 116 yards.
In his career at Alabama, Ingram totaled 3,261 career rushing yards and 42 rushing touchdowns in 39 games across three seasons. Ingram was selected 28th overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 2011 NFL Draft after finishing his college career. He spent 12 seasons in the NFL.
