ESPN Louisville's TJ Walker and Zach Cantrell — hosts of the "Kentucky Basketball Postgame Show" — took a call from "Caller Luther," who proceeded to go on an expletive-laden rant exceeding 90 seconds about the trials and tribulations of the Wildcats' season thus far.
For "Caller Luther," it seemed like Alabama was the breaking point.
"What the hell are we watching?" he asked.

"He shouldn't be here," Caller Luther continued. Who is he? None other than second-year Kentucky coach Mark Pope.

After calling UK athletic director Mitch Barnhart by the name "Barnfart," Caller Luther said, "This is some bull—."
Caller Luther reiterated his gratefulness for the chance to "freely talk" on the uncensored radio show and continued his tear.
"This is some bull—," he repeated. "And I'm sick of it. You're sick of it. Zach is sick of it. Every Kentucky fan is sick of this. Every single game we've got to watch this slop. Now we're down double-digits at halftime. Then we've got to continue watching the slop all through the second half while that moron sits over there."
While Alabama fans appreciate coach Nate Oats' sideline style and sport coats, those in Kentucky's fanbase like Caller Luther aren't impressed by Pope's fashion choices.

"And now he wants to wear a suit because he thinks that's good luck. Give me a break on that bull—," Caller Luther ripped. "That's like turning a hat backwards and saying 'Let's go.'"
Even Pope's facial expressions were up for debate.
"And then on top of that, he's sitting there making those bull—, disgusting faces all confused like he's playing D&D like a Saturday night back in high school," Caller Luther said. "I mean, give me a break man. I'm sick of this s—. Every player, every fan is sick of this s—. And this is some bull, man. I mean, this has got to change."
Caller Luther made a final plea to his beloved "Barnfart" on behalf of his fellow fans and lamented the hire that Kentucky once tried for instead of Pope.

"Barnfart has got to listen to the people. The man that should be walking our sidelines has whipped our a— four straight games in a row," Caller Luther said.
That man would be Oats, who led Alabama to three wins over Kentucky — one at Rupp Arena, another in Coleman Coliseum, and a postseason win in the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, Tenn.) — in the 2024-25 season alone. His record against Kentucky since arriving to Alabama in 2019 is now 7-4.
"Offer that man what, the damn, uh, Fort Knox gold currency to get that man here, cause this is some bull— we shouldn't have to be living through," Caller Luther continued.
Caller Luther said it was "bad enough" for Kentucky that John Calipari "set us on this trajectory back in '19 and on."

In April 2024, after he led Alabama to a historic Final Four, Oats emerged as a potential candidate to replace Calipari, who announced during the Final Four that he would be leaving Kentucky for Arkansas. Oats didn't let an entire day go by before he reestablished his dedication to the Crimson Tide with a statement saying that he was "fully committed" to the program.
Oats revealed to Bleacher Report's Seth Davis that he was "never offered in the first place."
"I don't want people thinking I turned it down, that wasn't the case," Oats told Davis. "I took my name out of consideration before it would have ever gotten to that point."
"I'm sick of it. It's got to change." Caller Luther said.

"And when the people start wearing paper bags on their heads, that's when I guess Barnfart will know enough to let it change."
