The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 takes center stage in December and early January, as 24 teams head to Morocco aiming to be crowned AFCON champs.

This is going to be a brilliant tournament held in nine stadiums across six cities in Morocco.

Here is everything you need to know for AFCON 2025, with star players competing in leagues around the world heading to Africa to represent their nations.

Which Premier League players are at AFCON?

Premier League stars Mohamed Salah, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, Ismaila Sarr, Carlos Baleba, Dango Ouattara, Iliman Ndiaye, Pape Matar Sarr, Idrissa Gueye, Noussair Mazraoui, Alex Iwobi and Omar Marmoush are all expected to play key roles at the tournament.

The tournament coincides with the hectic festive period for their club teams, so players could miss as many as six Premier League games if they reach the final.

Who are the favorites?

Reigning champions Ivory Coast are right up there, while hosts Morocco are the heavy favorites after their run to the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup. Captain Achraf Hakimi is back from injury just in time and the superstar right back is aiming to lead Morocco to a first AFCON title since 1976 and just their second in history.

Elsewhere the likes of Senegal, Cameroon, 2023 runners-up Nigeria, Algeria, and Egypt will all fancy their chances of making a deep run.

We should also keep a close eye on the likes of South Africa, DR Congo, and Burkina Faso as they all made statements in group play.
