Aaron Glenn: Believe it or not, Jets have made improvements in 2025

The New York Jets have not enjoyed success throughout the 2025 campaign. Perhaps that's an understatement.

Head coach Aaron Glenn's lowly squad is 3-13 heading into Sunday's Week 18 regular-season finale versus the Buffalo Bills. Even with a victory over Buffalo, which is incredibly unlikely, the Jets will fail to match their 5-12 record in 2024.

Glenn recently met with the media ahead of Sunday's finale. Asked to highlight some positives, Glenn actually managed to name a number of areas the Jets have undoubtedly improved in.

New York rank seventh in offense compared to 31st last year, and 23rd in penalties compared to 31st last season, with improvement on special teams as well.

Quarterbac, Justin Fields' early-season rushing production undeniably had an impact on the run-game impact. But a healthy Breece Hall also rushed for 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. The special teams unit benefited from the addition of kicker Nick Folk, paired with a few return TDs throughout the year.

The improvement in penalties is perhaps the best argument for why Glenn should retain his job. The Jets have been a more disciplined team under his leadership.

The Jets saw incremental growth in some areas this season. Acquiring more talent this offseason is general manager Darren Mougey's top priority.
