Jets Wire has identified five prospects in the Miami-Ole Miss showdown the Jets should closely analyze during the contest:

Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE, Miami

The expectation is that the Jets will select a quarterback at No. 2 overall. If Dante Moore doesn't declare, however, Darren Mougey may have to pivot to a defensive player. Miami's Rueben Bain Jr. has a strong argument to be the first EDGE rusher drafted. The Jets need pass-rushing help.

Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

With all options at quarterback still on the table, the Jets will be scouting Ole Miss signal-caller Trinidad Chambliss. Chambliss seriously increased his pre-draft stock in the upset playoff win over Georgia. The dual-threat QB completed 30-of-46 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns.

Keionte Scott, CB Miami

The Jets need to acquire multiple cornerbacks this offseason as they plan to revamp their defensive backfield. Keionte Scott is slightly undersized, but he's a dynamic playmaker who had a pick-six return touchdown in the upset victory over Ohio State. Scott would be a great addition for the Jets during the draft.

Harrison Wallace III & De'Zhaun Stribling, WRs, Ole Miss

Harrison Wallace II and De'Zhaun Stribling both surpassed 120 receiving yards against Georgia. Wallace is a big-bodied boundary receiver who can play the "X" spot. Stribling also thrives at making contested catches outside. The Jets could add to their pass-catching corps.

Ahkeem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami

If the Jets end up with a first-round quarterback, they must target EDGE in a later round. Ahkeem Mesidor has been fantastic throughout the College Football Playoff. Playing opposite Bain has led to isolated opportunities for Mesidor, who has taken advantage of matchups.
