5 possible candidates to replace John Harbaugh in Baltimore

6 days ago 2

The Baltimore Ravens have parted ways with head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons. His final game was Sunday against Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coincidentally, Tomlin was the coach of the Steelers in 2008. That makes him the only coach of the same team then and now since Harbaugh was hired by Baltimore. Harbaugh won a Super Bowl with the Ravens, going 180-113. He was 13-11 in the playoffs. The next coach of the Ravens has a high bar to reach following one of the great coaches in NFL history.

Who are candidates to be the fourth coach in Ravens franchise history?

Going from Harbaugh to plucking a top choice from another Harbaugh would make sense. Minter has received all sorts of accolades and was with Baltimore from 2017 through 2020. He also was a DC under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan before joining him with the Bolts. Logical choice.

Brian Flores, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator

Flores deserves another shot as a head coach. Miami was a mess while he was there and continues to be a quagmire. Look at what Flores has done with the defense in Minnesota. Let Todd Monken continue to be OC and have Flores shape the defense. That could be a winning tandem.

Kevin Stefanski

This could be more of a long shot than it seems. Yes, Stefanski had some success with the Brown. Overall, the last two years were 8-26. It wasn't his fault but he has to bear some responsibility. Why would the Ravens want to hire a head coach whose teams have struggled miserably in the same division?

Klint Kubiak, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator

One of the hot names for likely first-time head coaches. He has plenty of talent in Seattle and knows what to do with it. The issue here is if you hire a guy like Kubiak, why would the Ravens keep Monken. They don't need two offensive brains. If Baltimore brass likes Monken, Kubiak would not make sense.

Why not have a Shula coach an NFL team in Baltimore? It worked before.
