San Francisco 49ers linebacker Tatum Bethune and defensive end Nick Bosa have known each other for a while. Before they were teammates in the NFL, they were friends in Florida.
Bethune's father, Greg, was Bosa's youth football coach growing up, and the two families became intertwined.

In a recent episode of "You've Got Mail" on the 49ers YouTube channel, Bethune spoke about growing up with Bosa and shared a specific memory of some advice that the first-round pick gave him.
"I feel like, that's every little kid's dream," Bethune said. "You want to have guys around that have done it before, getting ready to do it. You know how it looks, and you know what needs to be done to do it.
"I can remember this like it was yesterday. I asked Nick. I was like 'How do I get big?' Nick told me 'Eat two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every night.' I still remember that. I just appreciate that whole Bosa family for just taking me in and allowing me to just learn from them and just shadow them. It came a long way, and now we're teammates."
The peanut butter and jelly sandwiches must've worked because Bethune is now 230 pounds and can deliver some mean hits as one of San Francisco's top linebackers.

Unfortunately, both Bethune and Bosa are now on injured reserve and won't get a chance to play in the postseason, but they'll surely be together supporting their other teammates in their quest for a Lombardi Trophy.
