49ers injury update: Is George Kittle playing tonight vs. Seahawks?

As San Francisco (12-4) prepares to host Seattle (13-3) in a game that will determine the NFC West champion and the NFC's No. 1 seed, the 49ers released their list of inactives.

After missing last week's win over Chicago and after being listed on the 49ers' Friday injury report with a questionable designation as he battles an ankle injury, Kittle's status for Saturday night's showdown against Seattle has been in limbo.

It's great news for the 49ers ahead of their massive showdown versus the Seahawks from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Though Kittle was a limited participant in the 49ers' practices throughout the week, the 6-foot-4, 250-pound former Hawkeye is not among the 49ers' inactives and will play on Saturday night.

"The more good players you have out there, everyone knows Kittle's a great player," Shanahan said. "We're going against a great defense, a great team. So, it's definitely huge to have everyone on board who is capable of it."

In 10 games in 2025, Kittle has recorded 599 receiving yards and seven touchdowns through 52 receptions on 62 targets. Kittle's 599 receiving yards rank as the third-most on the 49ers this season.

The 49ers will be without longtime left tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, which should make Kittle's presence even more important tonight.

While the 49ers did not have any problems scoring against the Bears in what morphed into an offensive shootout, the Seahawks boast one of the league's stingiest defenses and could test the 49ers' ability to put up points.

The 49ers and Seahawks kick off on Saturday, Jan. 4, from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ABC/ESPN and can be streamed on Fubo.
