'We should enjoy the view from the top before the next meltdown arrives'

Now that the dust has settled on Arsenal's goalless draw at the City Ground, not that it was disturbed much anyway, the result has left the fanbase fractured in its interpretation.

After Manchester City's 2-0 loss at Old Trafford earlier in the day, the door was open for Mikel Arteta's side to move nine points clear.

This would have been a gap that traditionally ends the ruminations of even the most pessimistic fan. Instead, the Gunners stalled.

For some, this result felt like a continuation of a trend that has prevented Arsenal from winning the title in three prior attempts.

In the game itself, they dominated the ball but lacked any ruthlessness against a well organised opponent.

Take a step back and the interpretation is that this squad simply cannot handle the pressure, especially when City have slipped up.

For the slightly more 'glass half-full' fans, this hysteria is ridiculous. Sean Dyche's Forest were never going to gift Arsenal the three points, and boring 0-0 draws are part and parcel of a title win.

The lead over rivals, thanks as well to Aston Villa's 1-0 loss to Everton, has actually grown this weekend.

There is something almost comedic about this collective loss of sanity. I sit within the half-glass-full side.

Arsenal are currently in a position I would have sold my soul for at the start of the season.

The extremity of emotion from all fans just represents how desperate we are for the title to come to North London.

This is all without even acknowledging that the Gunners are still involved in three other competitions.

A title race after three years of heartbreak is not for the faint-hearted. But perhaps we should enjoy the view from the top before the next meltdown arrives.
