'I'm loyal to Mike Elko': 2027 4-star ATH locked in with the Aggies

Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class features several under-the-radar athletes who are slowly rising in the rankings, including four-star athlete and future Aggie cornerback Hakim Frampton, who is playing in the Navy All-American Bowl this weekend, which also features several 2026 A&M signees, including wide receivers Aaron Gregory and Madden Williams, and five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington.

Frampton, who is one of the fastest players in the 2027 cycle, recently spoke to Rivals/On3 analyst Sam Spiegelman about his strong relationship with Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, who, amid a handful of coaching departures, will enter the 2026 season with a new staff, including offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins and defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill.

Even with these changes, Framptom reporteldy remains locked in with the Aggies heading into his senior season in Little Rock, Arkansas, stating that his commitment is "exciting," while his bond with his potential future head coach remains strong.

“Mike Elko’s truth never changed,” Frampton stated. “Even with coach movement in the secondary, his truth never changed. I’m loyal to Mike Elko.”

However, Speigelman further revealed that other top programs have begun to take notice and are heavily pursuing the Arkansas native, including Oregon, Oklahoma, and UCLA, to name a few. Elko will continue to maintain a healthy line of communication heading into the spring/summer and will look to get Frampton back on campus as soon as possible.
