A new hour-long special from BBC Radio Merseyside, titled 'Now, that's what we call number 20', is available to listen to and download on BBC Sounds.

The programme looks back on Liverpool's record-breaking 2024-25 title-winning season, where the Reds stormed to their 20th league title in Arne Slot's first year in charge.

Paul Salt and Carl Woodward reflect and offer their analysis, before the story of the campaign is told through commentary, interviews and and other soundbites from BBC Radio Merseyside's Total Sport.

"Expectations were low really for the season because there had been such an emotional upheaval with [Jurgen] Klopp leaving," said Salt.

"A new head coach came in who not a lot of people knew anything about after Liverpool had run out of steam at the end of the season before. I knew nobody was thinking Liverpool would win the league.

"People will say they maybe did take their foot of the gas at the end and that has hungover into this season, but Slot's in-game management was absolutely remarkable.

"There wasn't really a blip. They lost a couple of games - the Forest game at home and Fulham away - but they didn't lose again until after the title was already won.

"That goes to show you that the way Slot took to it was absolutely incredible. There can't be many people who have taken to a job so well and so quickly."
