The Dallas Cowboys go on the road in Week 18 to play the New York Giants and close out their 2025 season. With no playoff berth on the line, no one should expect either team to play their best players for the full 60 minutes.
However, that doesn't mean there's nothing to look forward to for the Cowboys. This game means a lot for Brian Schottenheimer, who is hoping to finish at .500 in his first season, and for the organization, who wants to head into 2026 on a high note by winning their last two games. Here are three other things Cowboys fans can look forward to in their Week 18 matchup with the Giants.

Extending impressive streaks
One of the most dominating streaks in the NFL is on the line for the Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott. After losing his first two meetings between the teams as a rookie, Prescott has won 14-straight games against the Giants. With Prescott being adamant about playing in Week 18, his winning streak is on the line in a game where he isn't likely to finish.
The Cowboys also have a nine-game winning streak going against their NFC East rivals, as well as winning 16 of the last 17 games. The matchups have been as one-sided as can be in the last nine seasons; the Giants would love to stop the embarrassment, but the Cowboys would like to keep it going.
Jaydon Blue gets his shot
It has been a disappointing rookie year for Blue, the running back who was drafted in the fifth round to be the lightning to Javonte Williams' thunder. That hasn't been the case; Blue has only been active for four games this season and has just 22 carries for 65 yards.

That is all extremely frustrating, not only for Blue, but for the Cowboys, who were expecting more. Things could change in the final week for Blue, who will finally get his opportunity to carry much of the load in the backfield with Williams and fellow veteran RB Malik Davis both out for the game.
It may have taken all year, but Blue can erase some of the doubts about him with a good performance in Week 18. The Giants have the league's 30th ranked defense against the run, and Blue needs to take advantage of his biggest chance to impress this season. A big game could carry a lot of weight going into Year 2.
Cornerbacks stepping up
Dallas' defense has struggled all season long, especially against the pass, and now the youth will be in the spotlight for the final week. The "it can't get any worse crowd" is about to find out if there's any truth about that sentiment with the cornerback group.

Rookie CB Shavon Revel and veteran DaRon Bland are out with injury, and Trevon Diggs' release has opened the door for some of the younger CBs. Second-year corners Caelen Carson and Reddy Steward are expected to be the starters, with Trikweze Bridges playing a large role as well.
Josh Butler, who hasn't played all season while recovering from an ACL injury suffered in the 2024 season, has been activated off the PUP list and is expected to get snaps as well. It might be just one game, but Butler can gain some confidence in his knee by getting back onto the field before building towards 2026.
It's a far cry from what the Cowboys thought the CB group was going to be coming into the 2025 campaign, but it's a good look at the options for the team heading into next year.
