3 more potential 2026 free agents the Steelers should re-sign

1 week ago 2

The end of the 2025 season is fast approaching, leaving many free-agency decisions for the Pittsburgh Steelers to make — with some players on all sides of the ball too important to let leave.

Adding on from our previous list of five players the Steelers needed to prevent from becoming 2026 free agents, here are three more contributors that Pittsburgh needs to re-sign.

FB/TE Connor Heyward

The heart and soul of the Steelers’ edition of the tush push, a.k.a. “Spartan” or the “Pittsburgh Plunge,” as some fans refer to it, Heyward has slowly emerged as a fan favorite in the Steel City. From picking up huge first downs to scoring touchdowns, Heyward is too vital on a play that has become a staple of Pittsburgh’s offense.

ST Miles Killebrew

One of the NFL’s top special teams contributors, Killebrew’s 2025 campaign was cut short by a season-ending knee injury — unfortunately coming in a contract year for the talented Steeler. Still, Killebrew is a former team captain and should bounce back in a big way for Pittsburgh, hopefully for years to come.

S Chuck Clark

With many questions surrounding the future of the safety position in Pittsburgh, Clark needs to be retained following the 2025 season. At best, Clark could compete with any other safeties on the roster for a starting spot, while at worst, he’d function as one of the top backups in the league on a cheap deal.
